Hi I'm Victoria House

I'm a college student, taking Criminal Justice courses. I love the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student and will either be a lawyer or a cop someday. I ride motorcycles, shoot traditional archery, hunt with my dad, and enjoy cooking with my momma. I love to sing and learn new instruments. I love country music, dancing, and traveling! :)

Why I am a Mormon

My conversion story is more of a slightly silly one in my opinion. When I was 12, my family was watching an older Clint Eastwood western called "Go Paint Your Wagon". I had seen this movie hundreds of times before, but this time, I noticed that a man had two wives and ended up auctioning one of them off to another man in a goldmine camp. I learned that this man was apparently a Mormon. I was appalled and slightly outraged that someone could allow this or do this. I asked my mom if Mormon's really did that now or before and she said she didn't know, but had met a Mormon only a few days before that and she would ask him. He told her that the LDS church doesn't participate in polygamy anymore and to his knowledge never auctioned off their wives. He also told her he would have someone from the local ward come and talk to us about the church if we'd like. That started my new adventure with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Ever since then, I've had multiple experiences of faith builders, trials where I learn just how much I trust my Father in Heaven and his Son Jesus Christ. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that this is the true church, and that our Heavenly Father loves each and every one of us more than we could ever understand. I know that prayer and friendships are two of the most beautiful and important things that we have been given by our Heavenly Father. Through prayer we can learn all things that we need to know. Through friendships, we can endure through the trials of this life and look forward to tomorrow. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and that Thomas S. Monson follows our Heavenly Father and has good intentions for us and good messages for us to learn from. I can't remember how I made it through my life without the gospel and Jesus Christ as the centerpiece. I know that I never want to find out, because I've never been so happy as I am now. :)

How I live my faith

I have the calling currently as the Relief Society President in my branch. I am in charge of all the things, lessons, activities, and well-being for the girls in my college branch. I have the chance to organize activities for us girls to bond and get to know each other better so that we can rely on one another more. I love organizing service projects for people in the community. I've been given the opportunity to do ride alongs with the various county and city departments of law enforcement to learn from. I live my faith through my actions, daily decisions, and through the example I try to lead. I try to live my life each day to the fullest, and through the gospel I have been blessed with happiness because of the way I live my faith. :)

What is being a Mormon like?

Victoria House
It is one of the greatest blessings of my life. To know who I am, where I came from, why I'm here, where I'm going and why are some of the greatest things to know :) I wish I could share with everyone all the things I've learned and come to know just to show that it really is true. The fact that so many of our activities are service oriented is one of the best things in the world. I love doing service, and being able to help plan the activities and to participate in them is awesome! When people see me and they know I'm LDS, they expect more of me and I love to be able to be the example that they are seeking for, and to share with them my beliefs through the life I live and love.
