Hi I'm Alyssa.

I grew up in New Hampshire and now live in Utah. I'm happy to be a wife, daughter, actress, teacher, and Mormon!

About Me

I am passionate about many things. There is nothing better in the world for me than being with my husband of 5 years, parents, and our dogs! We love hiking, camping, and kayaking. Wanderlust is one of my vices, I especially love traveling to Europe. I am working on becoming a better photographer, but enjoy it none the less. Acting is also something that brings me joy. I have been in many plays and films, even some for my church. A dorky trait is that I love collecting rocks! I also love trying new things like painting, home improvement, and playing the guitar. I converted to Mormonism as a child, but didn't have the opportunity to go to church. In high school, I was able to begin going to church and it's many activities. I am forever indebted to the kids who were brave enough to invite me. I felt like I was where I belonged and where other kids had the same goals and standards. I began loving the things the church taught me about making good choices that can impact an eternity. After high school, I left to come to BYU for the summer term. I didn't know a soul, but my membership in the church linked me to the other students immediately. One thing I love about Mormonism is that you can feel like you have brothers and sisters wherever you go! Later that year my parents were inspired to become active members in the church. We got sealed in the temple on New Years Day! It was one of the best days of my life. I went on to marry my husband in the temple. The rest is history!

Why I am a Mormon

In Matthew it states, "Ye shall know them by their fruits." I have seen what the church does for other people in need, how it has changed the lives of my loved ones, and the happiness it brings to my own life.

How I live my faith

Christ was a great teacher, and in my job as a first grade teacher I try to emulate Christ on a daily basis. In church I have had many callings with the children where I can continue to work on becoming like Christ. Throughout life I have tried to be an example to those around me. I came from a community where there weren't many of my faith. My own family was not members of my church. Through the great relationships I have formed, I have been able to keep my standards and display the happiness good choices can bring.
