Hi I'm Aaron

I'm studying Engineering. I'm a nerd. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm serving as a full time missionary for the church right now in the Italy Milan Mission, before my mission I attended one year at Purdue University where I studied electrical engineering. I love learning, and especially science and engineering. I like building stuff. In high school I competed in Science Olympiad where I focused on building events including Robot Ramble, Electric Vehicle, Mousetrap Vehicle, Trajectory, and Mission Possible. For those events I built a couple different robots to pick up various objects and move them into a box, vehicles powered by mousetraps and electricity to go a certain distance, and a Rube Goldberg-like device. At Purdue I build a robot that tried to drive around on a piece of paper, identify boxes and pick them up for a class. I love music. I've played trombone in band since fifth grade. In high school I marched trombone for three years and was drum major my senior year. At Purdue I was in the All American Marching band on trombone. My high school had a competitive marching band so we focused mostly on competitions. Marching band at Purdue is all about the performances at football games, which was also really fun. I love photography and especially like semi-abstract and macro shots, and also lanscapes. I love taking nature photos, especially series of each season.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church all of my life. Since I've grown up in the church I don't have a story of how I joined, and don't have a specific moment when I learned that it was true. Throughout my life I have seen frequent little confirmations that the gospel is true. The more I pay attention to the gospel the more I see little ways in which the gospel has blessed my life. Each time I have read the Book of Mormon I have learned something new from it, and I have had the truth of it confirmed to me. Whenever I pray sincerely and really pay attention for an answer I can feel that God is there and that he loves me. I have found that when I pray sincerely and read the scriptues my life goes better and I am happier, and so that confirms to me that this church is where I need to be.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a full time mission teaching the gospel and inviting others to come unto Christ in Italy. As a missionary I spend all my time serving others and helping them come to Christ. Before my mission I taught lessons at church each month, and always attended church. I also loved participating in church activities where I got to spend time with church friends and also learn more about the gospel.
