Hi I'm Terry Oldham

I grew up in the LDS church but I was a convert at Thirty-two. I am an Enviromental Coordinator for a Power company. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in the mountains of Arizona. Most people, who are not from Arizona, don't realize how much of the state is mountains or high elevation plateau. I love the community I live in and the people here. I enjoy playing sports of any kind, I like to stay fit and exercise is a big part of my life. I am a father of four kids and a grandfather of one so far. I love to play and listen to music of all kinds.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the as a Mormon but it never really sunk in until I had children of my own. The missionaries came to my house to teach my wife but ended up converting me. My wife joined the church a few years later. I guess like most, I have always searched for meaning and truth in life. I did not recognize what the gospel offered. Being a member of the church brought a deeper meaning and so much hope to me.

How I live my faith

I am currently the high priest group leader. I really love serving, my wife and I are always talking about serving a mission when we retire. I love how the principles of my religion are in reality universal principles. I mean it doesn't matter who you are, if you give and serve, you will be blessed for it. I am constantly blessed far beyond what I deserve. The Savior leads me to want to be better in all that i do. I love that.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Terry Oldham
When there is paid clergy the members of the congregation can come to depend on clergy for their spiritual growth. The opportunity to serve in different positions assures us of the chance to grow spiritually and forces us to rely on the Savior for help as we grow in our assignments. Show more Show less
