Hi I'm Jennifer

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married and have 2 children. I work full time and have done this most of my married life. When my children were small, I worked in day care so I could have them close. They are now grown and married too. Being a Grandmother is great. I enjoy sewing and being creative with my husbands old shirts and jeans by recycling them by using the fabric to design other things for my Grand Kids!

Why I am a Mormon

When my son was born, he had a seizure disorder. At the time, my oldest brothers family were members of the Mormon church. I had visited their church and knew that the Men were able to bless the children by the laying on of hands. My sister in law arranged, at my request, to have my son receive one of those blessings of healing while in the hospital, when he was just a few days old. His doctors the next day ran another test that we were told they had not thought of and this diagnosed the problem. They were able to start him on medication and our son was able to come home the next day. At 9 months old he was able to stop the medication and has lived a normal life since. We had Sister missionaries teach us shortly after that time and we were baptized a few months later in 1980. What a wonderful blessing the Priesthood is.

How I live my faith

I enjoy working with the children in our ward/congregation. They always are so "in tune" with our savior. I especially enjoy the nursery which is 18 months to 3 years old children. They are so sweet. It has become so difficult in my later years to get on the floor and play with them but I do love the hugs and smiles you get freely from each child. I also love that the women get together once a month to do an activity. This could be a lesson on cooking/canning or how to shop economically, or just to have a musical evening with refreshments. Sometime we have a dinner too. When my children were younger my husband and I were able to attend some parenting classes that were really great. It is so wonderful to have so many friends that share the same faith.
