Hi I'm Hailley

I'm student, I'm a sister, I'm a singer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a senior in high school. Actually, I graduate in three weeks! I'm going off to college in the fall. Honestly, I'm more scared than anything else. I love to sing and I've been in school and church choirs since 5th grade. I hope to continue. I also like to draw and make up stories. I live with my dad and stepmom, my two younger stepbrothers, younger stepsister. I also have an older brother who's out of the house. I love to spend time with my family and hang out with my friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. My dad grew up with the gospel, and my mom was a convert. I attended church and activities and mostly lived the standards, when I thought about it. But for a long time the church was just a thing that I was part of. It wasn't that big of a deal. I liked the church, and liked the gospel, but it wan't anything major. I occasionally had spiritual inclinations, but I didn't really have any daily observances. When I entered 9th grade, I began to attend early-morning seminary, a scripture study class. That year we focused on the New Testament. It was a requirment for the class to read scriptures 200 days out of the year and to finish the New Testament. Reading the scriptures and learning about the life of the Savior in that class brought me so much closer to God. That was a great class. But it was really my 10th grade seminary year, when we studied the Book of Mormon, that I really became truly converted. I had never actually read the Book of Mormon before, and I can say with all of my heart that it changed my life. That book brought a peace and a light ot my life that I hadnever experienced before. I began to choose to live gospel standards all areas of my life, not just the convenient ones. I began to pray and cultivate a realtionship with the Lord. I am so far from perfect. But even at the times i have had doubts, there are simply things I felt that I cannot deny. I know it us true. I believe that God has a plan for us. We came to earth to learn and grow and return to our Heavenly Father improved. I believe that our Savior Jesus Christ lived and died for us that we can repent and be saved. I believe that He was resurrected and that He lives. I believe in prophets that speak the Lord's words today, and I believe that the gospel was restored to the earth through Joseph Smith. The Book of Mormon is inspired and it will bring close to God. I know these things are true, and I say them in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday and have youth group activities every week. As I mentioned several times before, I attend early morning seminary. I am a second counsleor in my young women's group presidency, so I run meetings when the president and first counselor are not there, and other stuff like that.
