Hi I'm John "Buzz" Whiting

I was born and raised in Arizona. I am a retired school teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father to 6 kids, 5 boys and 1 girl. I raised my kids water skiiing and snow skiiing. We choose to do things as a family. Most or my children are educated, two doctorates, three masters degrees and 5 BS degrees among them. I received my BS degree late in life after working 13 years in the electric power company field, moved to my hometown to help care for my aging parents and went back to school to get my teaching certificate. I then taught in the local high school for 16 years. I retired a few years ago and now do some substitute teaching and help the local mortician.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family and have been a lifelong member of the church. The teachings of the church have guided my life in the decisions I have made. I also raised my family, with the support of my wife, with the teachings of the church as a guide. That guide has helped me raise a strong, respectable family. The teachings of the church give me the guidelines to live my life in the patern taught by the Savior.

How I live my faith

Because of my membership in the church I have had the opportunity to lead youth and adults in their efforts to follow the Savior. I also have the opportunity to serve others through assignments in the church. I am currently serving in a clerk position in my local ward and serve by keeping accurate records for members of the church.
