Hi I'm Ben

I am a missionary in the Brazil Manaus Mission. I love the gospel, I aspire to be an engineer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Brazil Manaus Mission. I love to play music. I know play piano, clarinet, bass clarinet, contra alto clarinet and tenor saxophone. I love to do engineering and architecture. I have a large family and I love to do marching band. Marching Band was one of my favorite things to do in High School because I made so many friends and it was a blast doing it. I am going on a 2 year mission to Manaus Brazil in a few months and speak the language of Portuguese and I am so excited! On return I will attend BYU Provo and major in mechanical engineering along with a minor in military science. After that I hope to join the United States Army as a Infantry/ Engineer/ Field Artillery officer.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I was born into the church and I grew up in it and was able to gain a testimony of Jesus Christ and his restored gospel bit by bit until I eventually knew that it was true. I know that the Book of Mormon and the Bible were written by men of God and that they both are true. I know that Joesph Smith was a prophet and that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet and that the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve are also men of God. Without a shadow of doubt I know that this is the true church, because of the many miracles I have seen in my life. Though they may not be huge and dramatic, they have helped me to live my life in accordance with Christs teaching. Seeing how the teachings of the church help to live a life where I am not dependent on things of the world and seeing how it helps me on a day to day basis strengthens my testimony immensely.

How I live my faith

I was the Stake Youth Committee Representative for my ward for two years. I helped to plan many of the activities for the youth in my stake such as Youth Conference and Mormon Prom. It is so much fun to be able to do the many things that I do, and it is such a joy to be able to see the growth and change people go through after doing these activities and building their testimonies. I was also a ward missionary. Now I am on my mission, in the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah, assigned to labor in the Brazil Manaus Mission.
