Hi I'm Jael

I'm a wife. I'm a physician. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up and went to medical school in Switzerland. After working in a family practice for half a year I moved to the USA with my husband where it's his turn to go to school. We want to have a family soon. I love different languages, I love sewing and crafting and playing the violin. I love the outdoors, hiking or snowboarding in the Swiss mountains. I love my family back home and the one I have here.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were the first ones in my family to become members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. So I grew up going to Church every Sunday with them and my siblings. I had a lot of good examples around me in Church that made me want to be better and follow the teachings of Christ. I gained a greater understanding of the gospel as I studied Holy Scriptures on my own from an early age on. Growing up with a faith in God helped me to get through my trials and learning to rely on Him. I have found happiness in knowing and doing what's right. The happiest people I have known are the ones trying to follow the word of God and loving and serving the people around them, so that's what I want to do too! I know that God hears and answers our prayers in the way He thinks best for our progress. I know He still speaks to prophets today and we are blessed when we follow their counsel. I know He also speaks to us through scriptures so we can find direction in our challenges. I know the Book of Mormon is His word as well as the Bible. It helps me to more fully understand my purpose in this life and stand up for the right. I know I wouldn't be this happy if I wasn't a member of the Church.

How I live my faith

I love Sundays because that's when I can go to church and be strengthened by other people's faith and experiences. I enjoy the New Testament class a lot and I always try to study the chapters for that week! It helps so much to know that I'm not the only one trying hard to do what God wants me to do. I feel like I have a family in my ward as we help each other out. I also love to discuss what I've learned from the scriptures with my husband. Then when there's tough times or decisions to be made, we know we can turn to God for help. Learning about the love God has for us has made me more grateful for all he gives us and that he lets us have problems so we can learn and grow from them. Living my faith also means that I try to strengthen family relationships with my husband, siblings, parents, parents-in-law, grandparents and so forth. Spending time with them is not only fun but it helps me to get to know and love everyone better. I believe that families can exist even in the next life and that's why they should also be most important to us now.
