Hi I'm Lara

I'm a life enthusiast. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an elementary school teacher, and married to my sweetheart and best friend! I love listening to and playing music, as well as writing, running, hiking, and trying new things!

Why I am a Mormon

Through my early college years I struggled a lot with my body image and self esteem. I struggled for years with this, and it was destructive in many areas of my life. One day on my knees in prayer, I received the deep impression that I was here for a reason, that God needed my services on Earth, and that spending so much time worrying about myself was not a good use of my time or God's time. Since then I have developed my career as a teacher, and I met and married my husband. We had the privilege of being married in an LDS Temple (the Brigham City, Utah Temple) for time and all eternity. Being LDS gave us the opportunity to be married there, and that in turn has given us a way to be together for eternity. In temples, you are sealed to your families for eternity. I can think of no greater blessing in life than to know that I will be with my husband in this life as well as the next.

How I live my faith

As a teacher of a public school, I'm not allowed to discuss religion with the children. However, it's important to me to instill a sense of value within the children with whom I work and to be a Christlike example of love and good to those around me. My husband and I help in our ward by teaching the nursery, containing children between 1.5-4 years. Though church time for them is a lot of play, it's important to us and to those we work with that these children know how loved and important they are in the eyes of Christ and of their Heavenly Father.
