Hi I'm Joyce

I'm a Mormon. I am a spiritual child of my Father in Heaven. I am an earthly daughter of goodly parents.

About Me

I am a wife who has been happily married to a good man for 58 years. I am a mother of four, a grand mother of eighteen and a great-grand mother of twenty one wonderful children. I am a retired elementary school teacher. Throughout my life I have enjoyed music, singing, swiming, arts and crafts, genelogical research, travel, education and being a part of family events held by our ever growing family. I am never happier than when I am with our family. I believe that families can be together forever. I try to live so that I will be able to realize this wonderful blessing. Through out my life I have been blessed with many experiences and opportunities that have enriched my life and have helped me to grow in knowlege, understanding and character. I am so very grateful to have an understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. I don't know how I would have made it through mortality with out the understanding of who Jesus Christ is and how He will help and comfort us all through our life if we will but ask and strive to keep his commandments.

Why I am a Mormon

I give much credit to my dear mother, who set my feet upon the gospel path when I was a small child. She had a testimony of the gospel taught in the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She wanted her children to be spiritually taught the truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ. This gospel path has guided my choices in life and has taught me to have faith and trust in my Heavenly Father and in the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I have been taught to follow the Savior's examples and his teachings. I believe that mortal life is a series of tests that are ment to strengthen our characters and souls, so that we will eventually become more like the Savior. I have enjoyed my life here on earth, even though I have had trials and tribulations. I have received numerous blessings all my life. I believe in answers to sincere prayer. I believe that my Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ is aware of me individually; as they are aware of each one who has ever lived on Earth. I am grateful for a knowlege of who I am, why I am on Earth and where I am striving to go when I leave this mortal existance. For this blessing I am most grateful!

How I live my faith

I have tried to live my faith by attending my church meetings each Sunday, where I partake of the Sacrament to renew the convenants that I made at baptism; that I will always remember the Lord, Jesus Christ and His attoning sacrifice for all mankind; that I will strive to keep HIs commandments daily. I strive to read the scriptures and enjoy attending the gospel doctrine class in Sunday School. I enjoy being a part of our women's organization where we learn to serve one anothe and those around us. We learn new skills in home making, enjoy each other socially, learn more of gospel living and what the Lord would have us do as women to help make our homes and the world a better place for all. After graduation from high school I chose to go to the Brigham Young University where I continued to grow in knowlege academically and spiritually. I will always be grateful for the wonderful four years at the University. One of the greatest blessings I received at B.Y.U. was, that I met my wonderful husband there! I have had many opportunities to teach children and adults in our church setting, as well as leadership responsibilities. I have been given opportunities at times to address our congregation. I have especially enjoyed serving for many years in the humanitarian organization of the church. I try to be a good citizen and obey the laws of the land. I am extremely grateful for the country I live in and the part that the Lord played in making our country the great country that it is.
