Hi I'm John

I grew up in north Mpls. MN and graduated from North H. S. in 1967. I'm a country and gospel songwriter and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and a father of a mine, yours and ours family of children. We have 2 High School boys still at home who are the ours part of the children. I am a Vietnam veteran having been drafted during that time period. I am now semi-retired. I am a Webelos Scout Leader for the Boy Scouts of America. I continue my lifelong hobbies of tracing my family tree and amature songwriting. I once had the opportunity of writing briefly with someone in the Country Music Hall of fame toward the end of her life. My family and I have travelled alot and I have lived in 5 states including Minnesota where I was born and raised. When we lived in Tennessee I met and wrote with gospel singer songwriter Martha Carson. A Nashville publisher who suggested we move there introduced my wife and I to her.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believed that Christ visited the American Continent as described in the account written in the Book of Mormon. After prayerfully reading and seriously pondering it, I was convinced it was genuine. As I began to feel it was of God, I readily believed also that it came forth by the way it is claimed. I was baptised on the 26 of January 1974 and after these 38 years I still feel its power.

How I live my faith

I attend Church weekly on Sunday and on Wednesday which is our youth night. On Wednesdays I am a Den Leader of 10 year old WEBELOS Scouts. I also visit a few other members in their homes on a monthly basis to offer my assistance with any of their needs. Anything my partner and I can't handle is referred to our our congregation's leaders who in turn refer needs such as moving to our men's and youth groups. I am always willing and looking forward to opportunities to share with others in my community and abroad how my faith in Christ and His Father has been enhanced by my beliefs as a member of the Mormon church. I also help out our community at the local food bank.
