Hi I'm Rex

I'm from Texas, I'm a missionary in New Jersey, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was born and raised in Dallas, TX. I love to draw whatever random things come to my mind, play acoustic guitar, and preach the Gospel in Spanish (and English if I have to)! I graduated from DeSoto High School in 2009, attended BYU from '09-'10, worked at Walmart ( : /) from '10-'11, and since September 7, 2011 I have been serving as a missionary of Jesus Christ in New Jersey and I love it!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church as Nephi, by loving parents who are strong in the church. My parents were the perfect example to me growing up; they didn't swear, watch innapropriate movies or listen to raunchy music. They truly believed in living the gospel, and by their example I decided I wanted to do that as well. I see the happiness in my family that comes from living the gospel, and I see how it affects those in my family who decide not to live by it. I want to be a father someday who is strong in the church so that I can be the kind of example for my kids as my parent are for me. While much of my testimony comes from my parents' example, I also have come to develop a testimony for myself that the Church is true. The Book of Mormon is a true record written by prophets of God in the ancient Americas and translated by a latter-day prophet named Joseph Smith. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the prophet today. I also know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only way to return to our Heavenly Father and to be truly happy. I have felt the difference in my life between the misery I feel when I make the wrong choices and the immense joy I feel when I repent and get back on the right path. I am so grateful for eternal families and the sacrifice that Jesus Christ has made for me to be with my family forever. Without my family I would be miserable, and without Christ I would be nothing.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to follow all the commandments that Heavenly Father has given us, and when I do something wrong, I repent and stop doing it! I've always stayed active in attending church and serving in the various callings I've been given, such as a leader in my priesthood group, teaching in Sunday School, and as of now, serving a 2 year mission. I'm always grateful for the opportunity to serve the Lord in any way I am asked, regardless of my strengths or weakness, because I know in any situation He can make us better. I'm also grateful to be a member of His Church and share His Gospel with others every day.
