Hi I'm Jessica

I am a wife to the very best husband in the world. I am a sports fanatic! I was born and raised in Idaho. I am a Mormon

About Me

Hi There. My husband just graduated from BYU-Idaho and got a job at CAT as a field engineer. We both lived in Idaho our whole lives. This new job of ours led us far from home. 26 hours away from home. My husband travels a lot which leaves me with a lot of time. With my extra time I am finding great pleasure in the 'crafting world.' I also love to exercise. I ran the St. George marathon a few years ago and wanted to run it again but the Indiana humidity is not helping my training process. I love to go to the gym and to do Zumba and Pilates. I love spending time with family and friends. You can't beat a family BBQ followed by a game of cards. Recently, my husband and I have been reading together. We take turns reading out loud to one another and have had a wonderful time.

Why I am a Mormon

Generation after generation on both sides of my family have been members of the Church. Every one of us is different and all of us have had to realize for ourselves that this church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, is the true church. I am no different than anyone else. I grew up with a mom and a dad. I grew up having to do chores. I grew up having to make my bed. I also grew up attending church every Sunday. I grew up having Family Home Evening. I grew up having family scripture study and prayer. I grew up going to Seminary. I was taught the doctrines and principles of the gospel since I was very young. My testimony started out small and very simple and as I got older, my testimony grew as well. It wasn't until I was older that I could read the Book of Mormon and fully understand what it teaches. I know this Church is true. It has so many great truths. The Spirit will make it known to you. I want to end up living with my Heavenly Father again, and by following the commandments and doing everything we can, I know it is possible.

How I live my faith

I think we live our Faith every day. It is as simple as not swearing in the workplace, not taking the Lord's name in vain and having people recognize that we don't do these things. The Word of Wisdom is so unfamiliar to a lot of people and us following it in our daily lives is noticeable. People notice when I don't drink the morning cup of coffee or go out for drinks after work. It has also led to several questions about why or why don't I do things and I can have a brief chance to express what I believe and why. On Sundays I play the piano for our young children during our music time. I don't play the piano very well, but I know that it helps the children and brings a special spirit in to the room. We believe that our leaders can't fully keep track and make sure that everything is well in every home in our church. That is why we as members take it upon ourselves to watch over and care for others. I have three women that I am friends with and have a spiritual lesson with each month. It also allows me to see if things are okay within their families and all of their physical needs are being met. If physical needs are not being met we are to let our leaders know and appropriate steps are taken to make sure their needs are met. I love meeting and interacting with the sisters I meet with every month. They are my friends. I really enjoy spending time at our Humanitarian Centers. I use my love for quilting to go in and tie the quilts that people send in. Once they are all finished they are shipped to Salt Lake City, UT to our church headquarters and they are shipped all over the world along with other goods to the people that need them.
