Hi I'm Zach

I'm a hike'n, read'n, game play'n, deep think'n Mormon

About Me

I was born in Seattle Washington 1991. I like to look for the good in everything people, my surroundings, the world, ect. Life's more fun that way. Serving others, chilling under a shady tree on a sunny day, talking with family/friends, reading, hiking, playing games (video or otherwise), and woodworking are a few of the ways I prefer to relax and have fun. Right now I am going to saddleback college in mission viejo, ca after having served a full time mission in the St Louis Missouri.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the Church. In 2005 I joined a scout troop affiliated with the church because my friend Parker invited me. Soon my dad and brother were going on hikes and campouts with the troop and my mom was talking with the women in the relief society. As we learned and talked with members of the church and attended with our friends we began to learn more about God, Christ, and our relationship with them. We then stared seeing the Elders (the annoying ones that go around and knock on your door haha) and continued to deepen our understanding of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. After listening, reading, and learning we chose as a family to be baptized June 18 2005, because of the Spirit testified that this church and the doctrines it teaches are true. To conclude after eight years of living this gospel and learning about it I've come to know that I like who I am and who I have become and I wouldn't be where I am with out the Gospel of Jesus Christ

How I live my faith

I try to look to the Lord's example and to the example of those he has called as the leader's of his church. Recently I have returned from a two year mission in St Louis, Mo. Now I am looking for opportunities to serve in both the church and community, and continuing to further grow my testimony by learning about God at the LDS Institute of Religion.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

We don't drink alcohol, smoke tobacco, or use drugs because the ability to choose is a gift from God and using such substances impairs and limits that ability to choose. We can also see the direct physical blessings of not using these substances such as better health and a closer relationship with those we love. As for coffee and tea we have faith in God and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, so that by following the council not to drink coffee or tea that we will be blessed For other diet we believe that one should eat a balanced diet and to keep our minds and bodies healthy and strong. What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

We believe that Jesus Christ is the one and only beggoten son of God. While on earth he taught his gopspel and called others to teach as well. At the end of his life he atoned for our sins in the garden of Gethsemane and then died for us on the cross. Then three days later he rose from the dead thereby breaking the bands of death for all men, and allowing those who believe on him and follow his word to return to live with Him and God after this life. It is through faith in Christ and His atonement that we can return to live with Christ and God in the life to come. Show more Show less
