Hi I'm Leanna

I grew up in California. I married a Chilean and we have a beautiful little girl. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello there...I grew up in southern California and now live in Georgia. I am a college graduate and a lifelong learner. I speak Spanish fluently...but would love to learn Portuguese and French. My husband is Chilean and we love celebrating holidays and traditions from both cultures. We have a daughter that is 2...and she is pure happiness for our family! I try my best to keep an orderly home that is loving and happy. I like to cook nutritious foods and believe in exercising not to loose weight but to be a positive thinker. My husband and I love to travel together...and even though it is more difficult with a 2 yr old...we still do...and have a great time! We would love to live in various countries so that we can always be exposed to new ways of thinking and the richness of other cultures!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents brought us kids to church growing up. I always loved going to church. I loved singing the songs and looking at pretty pictures of Jesus with the children. I always knew that God loved me and that He cared about my life. That knowledge helped me a lot through my teenage years when most tend to lose their way. While others went to parties and experimented with harmful substances, my friends and I volunteered in the community and planned activities to keep us away from bad situations. The Mormon Church programs for youth really helped me have great teenage years with no regrets. I graduated high school as a Valedictorian...and went on to study International Studies at Brigham Young University. I love the people and the cultures of the world. I love to learn how other cultures live each day. Like what they eat...how they speak...traditions passed on through generations...and how their religion influences their lives. As I learn more about the people of the world...the more I learn to love our different religions. There is so much good to learn from each other. Being Mormon allows me to look at others as Jesus Christ looks at each of us...as loved children of God with great worth! I am a more compassionate person for my faith in Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ lived on this earth...that He suffered for each of us...so that when we make mistakes...we can repent and be forgiven of them. My life is happier because I don't have to carry the guilt of the mistakes I've made. My faith in Christ also strengthens my resolve to be a better person. I love the people and cultures of the world and I am genuinely a happy person because I'm Mormon.

How I live my faith

Today I help my own family and other families in our community be prepared for life's emergencies. I research online and talk with others around the world to find good information to share with my community members. We discuss what to do in case of a natural disaster, when the power goes out...as well as how to make your money stretch farther when the economy is slow. The Church teaches its members to have at least a 3 month food supply of what you normally eat, a financial reserve, and water and supplies on hand in case there is a emergency. Ask my husband...I am a worry wort. But I find that I feel less fear when I am prepared. Helping others be prepared and sharing the knowledge they need to not fear also makes me feel happy!
