Hi I'm Brian Golden

I grew up in Michigan and now live in Washington, I'm a husband, father, an outdoor enthusiast, a businessman, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of five children and grew up in southeastern Michigan. I served a mission in Texas. Later, I attended college in Utah and received a Masters degree. While in college, met and married a wonder woman. We started our family while were in college, which was difficult but rewarding. We have raised a large family together. Our children bring color and variety to our lives. I love to be outdoors especially camping or hiking in the mountains. I’m an avid reader and especially enjoy early American & ancient history, mysteries and adventure.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was young my mom was Lutheran and dad was Catholic. At about 10 years old, my family was introduced to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints by a former neighbor who traveled a long distance to find us after we moved and share with us their belief in Jesus Christ and the happiness they received from our Heavenly Fathers plan of salvation. After reading from the Book of Mormon and praying about the things I had read my mom, brother, and joined the church. The rest of our family joined six months later. The teachings of the church helped me to keep life in perspective. After high school and a year of college, I decided to serve as a missionary and share the happiness that the teachings of the Church had brought me. As I missionary, my testimony of my Savior, Jesus Christ, grew and learned to think of the needs of others like the Savior did. Now as a parent, those early lessons are helping me keep perspective of what is important as I try to guide my children through turbulent times where there are so many forces trying to bring them down.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by trying to do what Jesus would do and be a good example. The teachings of the Gospel bring me peace and perspective: especially when work is so busy that I barely know what day it is. I particularly enjoy teaching Sunday School and youth groups. Through the study and prayer required to prepare a lesson, I draw closer to my Savior. I also enjoy opportunities to help with community activities and with my son's scouting group. Service a way of paying forward the blessings I have received by following Jesus Christ.
