Hi I'm Twila

I'm from Washington, moved to Oregon when I married the first time. Just starting a home business. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of six children and expecting my first grandchild in January. I am also a stepmother of two and step grandmother of three adorable boys. I love playing the piano, singing, ballroom dancing, doing puzzles, playing games with friends and family like Contract Rummy, Apples to Apples, Scattegories, the Game of Things, Banannagrams and Pairs of Pears and going to the temple. I went back to finish college and graduated in 2005. I have been working in the medical field for many years and am now starting my own business with online local business marketing.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised LDS by loving parents. I have been given the spiritual gift of faith and testimony. I always knew of the truth that was contained in this gospel. I still took Moroni's challenge in the Book of Mormon as a teenager and prayed specifically about what I had read. I received a confirmation that the Book of Mormon was true. With that witness, came the knowledge that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that Jesus Christ's church had been restored to the earth. I am so grateful for modern day prophets who lead and guide us. What a kind Heavenly Father to not leave us on our own in these last day. I served a mission at age 21 and have been married in the temple. I consider the covenants I made in the temple to be most sacred and binding for which I am grateful. I am thrilled with the opportunity to do missionary work online since we all search for things on the internet these days. What a blessing to be able to share our faith in this way. I am a child of God and so are you. He has a mission for each of us to accomplish on earth. And He is eager to have us return to live with Him again as we prove ourselves worthy to enter into His kingdom by repenting, getting baptized, keeping the commandments, making covenants, and enduring to end. God bless us all to do some good each day and love all of our Father in Heaven's children.

How I live my faith

I enjoy being involved in my children's public schooling. I support local ballroom dance instruction where 5 of my 6 children have taken lessons and learned great values to build up their self esteem. I enjoy volunteering to clean up parks on our church service days and helping at Deseret Industries. In my ward, I am the Visiting Teaching Coordinator. I have a strong testimony of visiting teaching: meeting with adult sisters in their homes at least once a month to share gospel messages, helping them with their families physical needs and becoming real friends by calling them often and finding out what is going on in their lives. I love attending the temple to do vicarious work for my deceased ancestors so that they can enjoy the blessings on the gospel on the other side of the veil. The temple has brought me so much closer to the Lord and I feel such peace there. I also have received answers to important questions there that I was praying about. I hope I can be a better and more open member of the church because this gospel brings me so much joy, gives me purpose for this life and reminds me of my value to our Heavenly Father as well as every other person on earth. Our family holds Family Home Evening almost weekly and we get closer together by spending this quality time with each other. We also sing hymns and other spiritual music along with praying together and reading scriptures. We need this spiritual bond to strengthen our family unit and keep the communication channels open. These basic habits have helped to establish a great foundation for our family.
