Hi I'm Charles

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a retired manager and driver for a concrete plant. I have had type I diabetes for 65 years; and am married with 6 children and 19 grandchildren. I came from an active latter- day saint home with 5 sisters. I served a two-year mission to Northern California, attended Brigham Young University and married my sweetheart in the Mesa, Arizona temple, 47 years ago. I love life and I love my religion.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been active in the church, mainly because my family was; but I gained a testimony of my own while I served my mission. It was not an easy time for a diabetic, but I learned that there is a loving Heavenly Father who truly loves and watches out for each of us; if we will but turn to Him in prayer, keeping his commandments. Many diabetics don't live as active and long a life as I have been blessed with; and I credit this solely to living the Word of Wisdom (Heavenly Father's plan of health) by never smoking or drinking and by eating properly. He has truly blessed me.

How I live my faith

I have always served actively in the Church, from serving families as a home teacher for most of my adult life, to serving as Ward Bishop and on the Stake high council. I have always tried to serve my fellowmen honestly in my community, helping with clean-up or town beautification projects. I served as a leader for a time in the Boy Scouts of America. I vote in every election and strive to be an honorable United States citizen.
