Hi I'm Brett Mickelson

I'm a father, husband, student & I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm a 39 year old graphic designer who grew up in the California Bay Area. I enjoy all types of music, particularly early 80's punk. I served a mission in Melbourne, Australia. I'm currently pursuing a degree in Behavioral Science. I'm married with 4 children.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I've been a life long member of the LDS church, I've had my faith challenged on many occasions. I've asked all of the relevant (and irrelevant) questions I could. Through all of my personal challenges and personal weaknesses, I've always come back to the same conclusion. I don't have all the answers, I don't know all of the details of life and will never die knowing everything I want to know. But this I do know... That God Loves Me. God knows me, and knows my trials and successes. He wants me to strive to be the best person I can be, while still being ME. He loves me for who I am, and not what others think I ought to be. He values my individuality and unique personality. I continue following the Gospel of Jesus Christ to this day, because of that. The teachings of Jesus Christ have brought me to know God, The Father. That brings me peace and happiness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by contributing to this world in my own way. I am participating in an effort to elevate the effectiveness of teaching at church. If we can better teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, more people lives will benefit from becoming closer to God, and knowing that He loves them for their own unique and individual character. I live my faith by teaching my children to make a positive impact on the world, one friend at a time. The teachings of Jesus Christ show me what to teach them.
