Hi I'm Ron

I'm a Mormon. I was born in Colorado, been a Marine & Missionary, obtained degrees in Ed. & worked on the Navajo Res.

About Me

I was born during the early years of the great depression, lived and worked on a farm with my family, joined the Marines after graduating from a small country high school. I enjoyed being a Marine and had many unforgettable experiences. I went on a Mission to Mexico and learned to love the Mexican people. I then went to college to earn the degrees necessary to be an educator of Industrial Arts, met and married a young lady who has been and is very special to me. We are the parents of (9) children and are now the grandparents of 21 grandchildren, all who are a joy of our lives. In education I became an educational administrator and served for many years of the Navajo Reservation, and learned to enjoy and respect a diverse and wonderful people.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a farming community, where our family were the only members of the Mormon faith. Thus, with my friends I attended their summer bible schools and learned many of the stories of the Old and New Testaments. However, I felt apart from my friends. I was baptized at eight years of age and confirmed a member of the Mormon Church. Later in the Marines I gained a testimony of Jesus Christ and that the baptism I had received at an early age was true and performed by one holding the Priesthood, which was restored through a Prophet Joseph Smith. I/we live in the times of the restitution of all things, which Heavenly father wants us to have. I determined to live the commandments of God and be an outstanding Marine at the same time and it was a wonderful combination for me, and I excelled as a Marine and a Mormon. I determined to serve a Mission for the Mormon Church, and was called to the Mexican Mission, which was blessing almost beyond description, to teach and baptize many wonderful people. I returned to attend college and married one of the finest young ladies, in the Temple, we have raised a wonderful family, and enjoy our grandchildren. All of these experiences continue to bear witness that I have found the true Church, and I enjoy being a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I have the opportunity to serve in the Church currently as the Manager of a Home Storage Center, and I'm also the President of the Gospel Doctrine Class, where I get to greet and welcome the members to Sunday School. I find much joy and happiness in serving in a small way the members of the Church. In the past I've had the opportunity to serve in the Boy Scouts of America, in the local troop/explorers, on the District and Council levels where I lead the organization of a Council Wide Explorer Olympics. Which turned out much better than anticipated, it was something to see young Explorers compete, do their best, and then show the greatest level of sportsmanship I've ever witnessed. My wife and I served as County Fair Managers for a number of years and created many events that continue today. It is good to see progress in our County Fair! I've served as a teacher youth and adults in Sunday School, and these experiences have been a high light of my life. To share the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the highest level of person to person experiences, and to see people change their lives and live the Gospel of Jesus Christ, desire to be baptized and receive the Holy Ghost, and desire to live the Commandments of God is almost indescribable!
