Hi I'm James

I'm a student, a soccer player, a Badger fan, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just got back from a 2 year religious mission to Santiago, Chile. But, basically I'm just a normal guy. I love all sports, but especially, soccer, baseball, golf, and hockey. And, along with that I'm an avid Wisconsin Badger fan. I go to college at Brigham Young University in Utah and am currently a sophomore. I'm not really sure about what I'm going to do with my life at this point. But, I am sure of one thing. I want to be able to help people. I really enjoy service to others. It's the only way to live.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a member of the Church? For me it all started with a good feeling. I grew up in a family where my parents and my brothers were members, but no one else in our family belonged to the Church. I grew up in an area where there weren't very many Mormons and because of that basically all of my friends were not like me. Thanks to my friends I was able to see personally how my standards would protect me from a lot of the major problems that they ran into. But, even so, there came a moment where I had to make a decision. I was coming up on a time when I would be able to serve a 2 year mission for the Church and I had to be pretty dang certain that what I was doing was right if I was going to give up 2 years of my life for it. So, I did what everyone else has to do. I read the Book of Mormon and I prayed about it. The Spirit witnessed to my heart that it was true and I've never doubted since.

How I live my faith

Just this morning actually I was up teaching an early morning scripture study class to some youth. Most Mormon youth attend a scripture study class that a lot of times starts as early as 6AM! Today I was subbing, but most of the time I play piano for some meetings at church and I try to help wherever I can. Because of the fact that I'm just getting back from my mission in Chile, I'll probably have the opportunity to teach other youth what it's like in the mission field and help them prepare. I LOVE SERVICE!!!
