Hi I'm Donovan

I am an Arizona native, a veteran, a lawman, a mountain climber, a husband, a dad, and you guessed it....a Mormon.

About Me

My eight year old daughter is sitting next to me, and will now describe who her dad is: He has green eyes, brown hair, always wears a watch, and sometimes wears his shoes around the house. My dad is careful when he spends his money, and he makes jokes and tickles me. I am excited to see what's in the secret file when I am an adult (The secret file is a file of my best recipes). My dad is a good cook. My dad is a good example when I am stressing out. I couldn't have described myself any better!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Mormon faith with active parents who took me to church every week. My dad is a convert, joining the church in his twenties, and is the only member in his family. I have always been impressed with his goodness, living high moral standards even before becoming a Mormon himself. I knew growing up the people I interacted with at church were good people. I felt good around them, and enjoyed many friendships. Eventually I questioned what my beliefs were. Our church teaches principles a lot of people find restrictive. Our church also has a history which some find hard to believe. Did God and Jesus Christ appear to Joseph Smith, a fourteen year old boy, in 1820? Did Joseph Smith eventually restore Christ's church at the direction of God, clarifying biblical truths of a pre-existence (life before coming to earth) , the eternal nature of families, and our ability to become like God? I found answers to questions about our faith, the same way I have found answers to all of my questions about life. I am a Mormon because I have had prayers answered after exercising the faith God requires.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be a good person, and following the example and will of Jesus Christ.
