Hi I'm Thomas

I'm a paintballer, a snowboarder, a college student, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 21 year old college student. I just returned from serving in the California Ventura Mission. I plan to study engineering and eventually get a masters degree in business. I plan to be my own boss. I do free lance computer work now and love the freedom it allows me.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and for the longest time it was my parents religion. I did all the activities like I was suppose to just to keep the peace. My conversion came in multiple parts. When I was 16 I went to a high adventure camp for youth. Part of the camp we were asked to go out into the woods and meditate. While in that seclusion I sincerely wanted to know if this church was true. So I knelt and prayed. I felt an overwhelming surge of the spirit. I never doubted from that point. I didn't truly start living my religion though. When I was 18 and was getting close to deciding on whether or not to go on a mission my conversion was completed. I worked at a movie theater for a short while. A coworker of mine one day came and asked me to baptize her. We hadn't really talked about religion at all. In fact I was a little surprised she knew I was Mormon. I told her there was a process. She informed me she had already sought out the missionaries and had been attending a different ward. After further inquiry she informed me that she sought out the missionaries because she noticed something different in me. She wanted it for herself. After her baptism I saw the incredible change the Atonement wrought in her life. After that moment I knew the church was true and that is was the greatest source of happiness. It was also the leading cause for me to serve a mission.

How I live my faith

I live my religion by reaching out to people. In the world today one doesn't have to go far to find someone in need. Sometimes a simple smile is all someone needs. I live my religion by proclaiming that Christ lives. I pray that every day somebodies life was made better today by my actions, whatever they may have been. There are plenty ready to tear people down. What we need is people who build others up. I live my religion by trying to be one that builds others.
