Hi I'm Jason

I was born in Alaska. I am a entrepreneur, climber and family man. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

The outdoors has always been a major part of my life wether I am ice climbing, hiking, biking or simply enjoying the park with my wife and children. The outdoors brings so many opportunities to find balance in life and time to think. My time is split between running my business and family activities. The challenge of keeping a business prosperous in these hard times is daunting but fun. My wife and I have been the best of friends since meeting in college. Watching the kids grow, faster than seems possible, creates the best character building and rewarding experience imagined. I cherish all those around me who add the perfect amount of spice and love that fills my life so completely.

Why I am a Mormon

Being at least a 4th generation Mormon I grew up learning how important our Savior is to each and every one of us. At 19 I served a mission to Japan. Even being born and raised and serving a mission I still had to develop my own relationship with the Savior and gain my own testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I remember struggling to know if this was right for me and not just something my family wanted me to do. After much heartache, introspection, and studying of the scriptures down on bent knee did I come to the profound and instant realization that I couldn't stop being a Mormon or following Christ. To do anything else would have been harder, because I would be going against what I new in my heart was true. This realization came to me as I lay alone on my bed asking myself if I wanted to keep living as I had been. Since that day I have done all I can to be the best follower of our Savior and lord Jesus Christ. Being a Mormon has brought joy to my life in so many ways. Each day goes so much easier as I pray and read the scriptures. When my mother passed away, from cancer, my pain was softened by the knowledge that families are forever thanks to Jesus Christ. I am so excited to be married to my wife for all time and eternity; and humbled by the gift of being a father to three glorious daughters. It took me some time but I now know that a loving Father in heaven wants the best for me and my family, that Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of the world and that in and through Christ's atonement we can find lasting happiness and peace in this hectic world.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as the "Ward Executive Secretary". In this position I help schedule time for those who want to meet with the Bishop. I have been lucky enough to have been able to teach several Sunday School classes at church. One of the funnest opportunities was when my wife and I served together to teach the youth, 12 and 13 year olds. The class was so full of energy because the kids were mature enough to be very thoughtful in their questions and genuine in their interest to learn more about Christ's teachings.
