Hi I'm Wade

I love life! I love the outdoors and the big cities. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love all the seasons: spring, summer, fall, winter. I feel most at home when I'm not at home, in the mountains or canyons. I rock climb, run, snowboard, mountain bike, snowmobile, raft white water, slackline, wakeboard, skate longboards, and go ATVing. A huge part of my life is music. My favorite genre by far is ska. Going to concerts or listening to my ipod, I'm soaking up the ska. I'm studying mechanical engineering. I just recently got married to my very best friend. We met in our physics 2210 class. She is the greatest thing about my life. I hope to one day have a family. Aside from all my other life goals, to become a good husband and father is most important to me.

Why I am a Mormon

It is because of the light and happiness that the gospel brings that I'm a Mormon. I was born into the church and my parents taught me and helped me along in the right direction. I owe a lot to them. As I was growing up and trying to accept the teachings of the gospel, there were many times I didn't know what to believe. I admit that a few times I wasn't sure that God was even real. When I recall those memories, those were the darkest and loneliest days I can remember. It wasn't easy acquiring the testimony that I have today. Now, it's a priceless treasure. It came to me little by little, very slowly over the years of my life. It came to me as I read the scriptures. It came to me as I went to church and church activities. But by far, my testimony has come to me through prayer. Very rarely do I ever feel the spirit of the Holy Ghost the first time I pray... or the second... or so on. Only after much praying and much faith do I feel the undeniable promptings of God's love. This I know! God is our Heavenly Father. He lives and loves us. We are all the sons and daughters of God. Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. I have felt the healing power of the atonement in my own personal life. God is not a respecter of persons. He hears and cares about everyone's prayers. However, God's ways are not our ways and he will answer our prayers in his own ways and in his own time. Joseph Smith saw God the Father and Jesus Christ and was chosen as the prophet to restore Christ's church, The Church of Jesus Christ. God's chosen prophet on the earth today is Thomas Monson. The Bible along side The Book of Mormon is the word of God. Jesus Christ will come again to this earth. This is my testimony.

How I live my faith

Living the word of wisdom (no drinking, no smoking, and so on...) has always been easy for me. I feel that even if I wasn't a member I would live it because I enjoy good health. I keep the commandment of paying a full tithe. I've seen the blessing that come to my life from that alone, blessing that the money (if kept) could not buy. When I was 19 years old, I volunteered to serve as a full time missionary. The church called me to the Sofia, Bulgaria mission. I served for two years. I don't feel good about going to bed if I haven't prayed yet. I try to pray every day, even when I'm in a bad mood. I go to church once a week and partake of the sacrament to renew the covenants that I made at baptism. I try to go to the temple at least once a month. I have found that when we keep all the commandments of God it actually gives us more freedom. When we do not choose to do what is right, then we are bound by the will of Satan.
