Hi I'm Scott

I'm a husband and a father. I make sure fire comes out the correct end of rocket engines. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm Scott. I'm a husband, father, boy scout wrangler and rocket engineer who can match his own socks! I enjoy being in the outdoors with my family whether its camping, skiing, cycling, backpacking or just taking the dog for a walk. I have a habit of using my wife's jokes as my own - and you would too if you heard how good they are!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because God has answered my prayers and told me that this is where I belong. I want to live with God and His son Jesus Christ after this life and I want my family to be with me. I remember when I was 14 I read the Book of Mormon all the way through for the first time. I went to church that Sunday seeking an answer to my prayer to know if Joseph Smith really did see God the Father and Jesus Christ as he claimed he did, and if in fact Christ restored His church through Joseph. During the course of the meeting a woman from the congregation stood and shared her feelings regarding Joseph Smith. I don't remember what she said but I remembered how I felt. It was an undeniable feeling of peace so intense that I felt enveloped by it and closer to God than I had yet felt at any time in my life. This was my first answer that the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God.

How I live my faith

I love working with youth. I currently volunteer as an adult leader in our local troop of the Boy Scouts of America. It is a tremendous thing to see a young man confront a challenge and overcome it whether that challenge be spiritual, physical or emotional. When I read in the Bible and Book of Mormon of how Jesus Christ taught and cared for his disciples it inspires me to care for my family and the youth I work with in the same way. I try to learn about him by reading the scriptures and then I try to serve like him in the way I care for my family and the young men I teach. I make a lot of mistakes but God is patient with me and encourages me, because after all I'm His son too and He wants me to overcome the challenges in my own life.
