Hi I'm Gillian

I'm an actor, I'm a reader, I'm a writer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I realized that I was an example for people when I went to the church program for young women. I love to keep the standards I have been told to keep, and I love answering questions that my non-member friends throw at me. I like to read, write, learn, act, sing, and dance. I also love soccer, swimming, and playing the ukulele. I am currently a freshman at Southern Virginia University, and I report to the MTC in July and I'll report to the Italy Rome Mission. I am the youngest of 4 children, I'm an avid traveler, and my favorite color is emerald green. This gospel is what made me who I am, and I wouldn't trade it for all of the sin in the world. I wouldn't choose a different life than the one I am living because it wouldn't be nearly as fulfilling. I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I am a unique and eager person, and I always love to listen to my family, and the speakers in my Sunday School classes. I like it when my family is together and we do fun activities and bond. Some people don't have a strong relationship with their families and it is very sad to me. Families are the basis for all truth, and mine has built me to be positive and kind. I think this world is better with this gospel because it gives me light that guides me through my trials and errors. I thank the Lord every day for this church because of the way I live my life to its fullest.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being a good example for the people who don't know any better. I dress modestly, I don't swear, I don't drink coffee, tea or alcohol. I don't listen to inappropriate music, or dance inappropriately. I try to be like Jesus by giving good, meaningful advice to my friends when it is needed. I love to talk to people about my faith because it strengthens my testimony with every question and I fall in love with it all over again. I smile more and more as I go about my life because I Just keep getting pulled in the right direction, and I remember how blessed I am. I love one another. I refrain from swearing because it makes my thoughts more wholesome. I dress modestly because I dress the way I wish to be addressed. It makes me more confident in my dealings because I am not constantly worried about the way I look and it gives me more time to think about my life and what I can do to better myself through studies or music or reading. I love to learn. The more I read and learn, the more well rounded I become and I love that feeling of furthering my horizons.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

The way I see the atonement is the absolute agony Christ felt that day opened the gate to an opportunity to feel the exact opposite of that agony: absolute bliss. I have felt this gospel principle bear witness of this on multiple occasions because of how prominent it is in my testimony. I used to think I could go about my life without needing it, and I could get away without an understanding of this fundamental blessing. Never have I been so wrong. It is woven into the very fabric of my being. I strongly urge you to consider it. Show more Show less
