Hi I'm Tonya Loosle Gleave

I'm a lucky wife, mother of 4, grandma of (almost) 6, daughter, and sister! I'm a Mormon!!

About Me

I am the mother of 2 amazing daughters and 2 amazing sons. Three of which are married and have given me the greatest gift of 5 beautiful, funny, and sweet grandchildren with another one on the way! I have been married to my husband for around 32 years!  I have worked in the school system for 12 years and in banking for several years before that. Even though it was tough, I was lucky enough to be a 'stay at home' mom until my youngest went to school. There isn't any career that I would have traded for that blessing. Being in an office all day makes me crave the outdoors. I love to golf (not very good though!), ride 4 wheelers, go on walks, ski, shop, talk on the phone (to family), travel, and anything social!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints all of my life. I had to gain my own testimony as a young adult rather than just trust what I had been taught all my life, as every Mormon does. Raised by dear parents who gave me a great foundation and taught me about my Savior, Jesus Christ, was the start of my testimony. Everyone is able to find out for themselves and not have to believe what others say. That is a promise from our Father in Heaven and from Jesus Christ that through sincere prayer, you can find out for yourself. The Book of Mormon is another testimony of Jesus Christ. I know that it is the most correct book on the face of the earth. I LOVE that book! I have read it and reread it many times. I know for myself that it is the Word of God. We revere Joseph Smith as he was the one chosen to 'restore' Christ's original church back to the earth after the great apostasy. We believe the Bible is also the word of God as far as it is translated correctly. They go hand in hand. We have a living prophet to lead and guide us today. He is the Savior's mouthpiece on the earth. Do I consider myself 'perfect'? NOT AT ALL! I try to do my best every day, and some days are better than others! I know that Christ paid the price for my sins and that I can be forgiven if I will continue to repent and continue upward trusting in the power of the Atonement and the love of my Savior. I know my Savior lives. He loves us all so much and wants us all to return Home to Him. He made that possible if we will but do what He asks of us. That includes making and keeping sacred covenants. When we promise to do His will to the best of our ability, He promises to do what He said He would do for us. That's the beauty of a covenant. It's a two way promise. I love my Father in Heaven and my Savior, Jesus Christ. I know this is His Church and that is why it bears His name. The Book of Mormon is true. Please find out for yourself!

How I live my faith

There are so many places to serve in our Church! I have been blessed to teach the children, the youth, and the older (like my age...we are just in 'BLOOM'...not OLD!!) ones in my Ward! The youth are AWESOME!! They are so much fun! The little kids are so sweet, sing like angels, and they will tell you the funniest things!!! I Visit Teach 4 ladies (Sisters as they are affectionately known) from my Ward every month. They are a great strength to me as I share a gospel message with them each month. One of my sons served a 2 year mission in El Salvador and my other son in Mexico. That has been one of the sweetest blessings to share my boys with the sweet people of these two countries. Although I missed them, I loved hearing about the great people they met who received the gospel message and found out for themselves as to the truthfulness of it.
