Hi I'm Josh

I was born and raised in Fort Collins, CO. I am a cyclist, climber, camper, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Being born and raised on the Front Range I have always had a passion for being in the outdoors. I enjoy everything from day hikes in the Rockies, to week long back pack trips in the Windrivers. I am also a swimmer in the winter, spring, and summer. I love to be in the water whether its relaxing in a hot tub or swimming laps at team practice. I also love to go on bike rides: road, mountain, or even just cruising around the town satisfies me. I love to support my brothers and sister by going to their piano recitals and concerts. I also love hanging out with my friends. I love being able to go out at night and not have to worry about compromising my standards. I am proud to say that I have never drank or smoke. I believe that staying far away from the "cliff" is the safest and easiest route back to our Heavenly Father. Currently, I am a student at BYU-Idaho. I love it up here! I am an AgBusiness major with a Global emphasis and I look forward to the future of agriculture. Even more currently, I am in Brazil serving a mission July 2013-July 2015. (Brazil Goiania Mission)

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church so I have always been in the gospel. I believe that you can't live off your parents testimony and rely on it to get you through life. I had never doubted the church but until I was 14 I had never studied my scriptures diligently or had a testimony of my own till I read the Book of Mormon cover to cover. As I was reading, I knew that the church was true and my testimony was strengthened each day I read it. It strengthened my testimony of Jesus Christ and how He died for each and everyone of us so that we can return and live with our Heavenly Father. I know that the love our Savior has for us is unimaginable. The Church is like the roaring Mississippi river and how no one can stick their puny arm and stop or change the course of the river. (D&C 121: 33) This Gospel is strong and powerful. Temples are being put up constantly, and aid is sent all over the world to help God's children. The Church is literally rolling forward and nothing can stop or stall it from doing so. That is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Keeping the Sabbath day holy is a big way I demonstrate how I live my faith. Sporting events, homework, and other things that are pressured on Sunday don't interfere with me going to church or spending time with my family. The Lord blesses me to get things done Saturday and Monday morning so that I my Sundays are kept holy. I never miss church. I go when I am out of town, in the middle of hunting trips, and when I am not feeling 100%. Going to church and partaking of the sacrament is very important to me. I rely on renewing that covenant with Heavenly Father so that I can get through the next week. Sunday is not the only day that I worship God. In partaking of the sacrament, I promise to always remember Him, and keep his commandments. I try my hardest throughout the whole week to do this by attending early morning seminary, studying my scriptures, and praying morning, night, and when ever I have a problem.
