Hi I'm Shantelle

I grew up in Nebraska. I'm a wife, mother and substitute teacher. I've lived in Nebraska, Utah and Argentina. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Nebraska. Attended Brigham Young University and graduated in Elementary Education. I love to teach children. After my first two years in college I decided to serve an 18 month mission for my church. I served in the Rosario,Argentina mission and learned to speak Spanish while teaching about Christ and his teachings. I met my husband in college and we now have 3 beautiful children. I'm currently a stay at home mother and a part-time substitute teacher for the local elementary school. I enjoy taking vacations around the United States. I also enjoy taking photographs of scenery and people. I enjoy reading books that tell about true life events. I also love to spend time with my husband and children.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents that were Mormon so I grew up in the gospel. I loved going to church and learning more about what it meant to be a true follower of Christ. As I grew older I felt it was time to know if this was the true church on earth. I was away at college at BYU and didn't know anybody there. I read the scriptures more fervently and prayed to know if this was Christ's church on the earth today. I will never forget the overwhelming spirit that testified to me that this was Christ's church that Joseph Smith had restored to this earth. I know that my Savior lives. I know he loves me and all of his children here on the earth. I know that he knows each and every one of us by name. He knows our hopes, desires, needs, pains and everything about us. I know that I can pray to my Heavenly Father at any moment through Jesus Christ and that he will hear and answer my prayers when he feels they need to be answered. Sometimes it's instantly and other times it is a long time down the road. I know that the Book of Mormon and the Bible are true. I know that they are both the words of the Lord through his prophets. I know that we have a true and living prophet, Thomas S. Monson on the earth today. I know that he leads and guides us and tells us what Heavenly Father wants us to know and do today. I'm so grateful for the Son, Jesus Christ, who lived and died for us so that we may return back to live with our Heavenly Father someday. I know that families can be together forever as long as we follow God's commandments and are sealed in His holy temple. I know all these things are true because of being a Mormon and learning these teachings my whole life. For that I will forever be grateful.

How I live my faith

As a member of the Mormon church I have the privilege of serving others. Every Sunday I teach the 4 & 5 year old boys and girls. We talk about all of God's creations and how to love and respect the things that we are blessed with in our lives. I also am able to be a visiting teacher which is where me and another lady go and do home visits monthly with 3-4 women that are members of our church. In our visits we give a lesson that comes from our church leaders each month and we talk about our lives. We often talk about needs that the women may have in their lives currently. We as the visiting teachers try to fulfill those needs on our own first if possible, if not then we discuss their needs with our leaders at church and see how we can fulfill those needs as a church.
