Hi I'm Mindy

I'm a mom and a first grade teacher and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

The most important thing to know about me is that I am a mom and a wife and I love what I do! I have been married for 25 years to the best man I know. We love to laugh and hike and just be together. I like to hike in the mountains but I especially love hiking the Grand Canyon. I am also a teacher to 20 of the cutest 6 year olds you will ever meet. I love teaching and sharing what I know with small children, but I love seeing their faces light up when they catch on to something new even better. There is nothing better than that! I am shy, but I try to be kind. I have learned how to be a better person through the amazing examples of my husband, parents and in-laws.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I am proud to be a member of His church. Once I knew and fully understood the experiences of Joseph Smith I knew down to my core that what he said happened, really happened. He was kind and honest and he is my hero. I love the Book of Mormon. I love the way it testifies of Christ, I love the lessons I learn from its pages and I love the way it makes me feel when I read it. I know that our Savior Jesus Christ atoned for my sins and that he made it possible for me to return and live with Him again. We are lead by a prophet today just like we were in ancient days. It is exciting to me that our prophet communicates with our Heavenly Father and helps us understand His will. I love this church. It gives me daily direction and helps me live as He would have me live. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Every day my family gathers together for a morning devotional. I love this time, first thing in the morning, when we can discuss the most important things...God, faith, love, the lessons we learn from reading the Bible and the Book of Mormon, etc. It is a time when I can look directly at each member of my family and express my love of these things to them, and they can do the same. This gives me insight into how each of my children are really doing and it puts things into perspective for me, which starts my day out just right. This is one way I live my faith.
