Hi I'm Trent

A husband in training, athlete, outdoorsman, and yes, I'm proud to be a Mormon.

About Me

The majority of my life has been spent in the wide-open west--Utah and Idaho! My family is everything to me. I was raised by dedicated parents who taught me the importance of hardwork, goal-setting, honesty, and loyalty to God and family! I graduated with a business degree and currently enjoy working as a municipal account manager in the commercial trucking industry. At a young age, I learned to love baseball and spent 19 years playing with amazing teammates and coaches. Many life lessons are taught through sports! I enjoy meeting new people, cultures, and traveling to foreign countries! Above all, I charish the precious moments talking, fishing, hiking, and camping with my wife! We were recently married and look forward to having a family.

Why I am a Mormon

Like other members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I became an additional "link" to a chain of faithful Mormons dating back to the 1800's. My wonderful parents taught me the simple truths of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to live accordingly. I CHOOSE to be a Mormon today because I have studied, pondered, and prayed to know that it is true for myself! As I have tested the teachings of the Savior in my life, the sweet quiet feelings of the Holy Ghost have testified that the church is real and true. We live in a trying world with discouragement, pain, and stress all around us. The gospel of Jesus Christ provides clarity to the choices of life. I love the quote, "In righteousness, there is great simplicity". I know this to be true! I follow the Savior's gospel because it provides a sure foundation for my day to day life and creates happiness as I live it.

How I live my faith

For the past two years, I have enjoyed serving the youth as a Scoutmaster for a local troop sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The youth are amazing today! As a troop, we enjoyed fishing, hiking, camping, competing, and learning essential skills to help shape the character of our leaders of tomorrow. Because of great mentors who inspired me, leaders who taught truth, and teachers who motivated me as a young boy, I have forever been changed. I hope to be that spark in at least one young person today. Today, I now enjoy serving the members of the ward in a different, more demanding capacity. I have opportunites to teach, organize, and be a support to various adult and youth groups. As I strive to extend a helping hand to those in need, I feel the strength of Jesus Christ guiding me along the way. I cannot do it without Him! Living faithfully is a choice! Dilligence in keeping the commandments is a day to day effort--not just on Sundays.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

I truely believe and know that our loving Heavenly Father has a living, modern prophet here upon the Earth today. Just as the Israelites were guided across the vast Red Sea by Moses, likewise are we guided by a living prophet, Thomas S. Monson, through today's challenges. Beginning with Joseph Smith in the 1800's, God has called prophets in our day to lead us back to Him. As I study the words of scriptural prophets of old and apply the teachings of our living prophet today, I feel happy and confident I'm doing what is right! Show more Show less
