Hi I'm Cody

I'm a husband. I'm a father. I'm a Marine Corps pilot. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in southern Utah and graduated from High School in 2004. I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Taipei, Taiwan. I graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2010 and attended the Marine Corps basic school from the fall of 2010 to the spring of 2011. My wife and I were married on June 4, 2010. Upon graduation from The Basic School my wife and I moved to Pensacola, Fl for naval flight training. Our first child, Ethan, was born in August 2012. i currently fly helicopters for the Marine Corps.

Why I am a Mormon

I have spent most of the past ten years of my life in the military around good friends who are not members of my faith. I greatly value their friendships and have immense respect for their beliefs and lifestyles. They are all dedicated citizens of our country, loving members of their family, and great examples to me. But with all the encounters I have had with respectable members of other faiths I have never found another religion that brings me closer to my Heavenly Father than the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have prayed to know the divinity of this church and God has given me an answer that I cannot refute, alternately explain or deny. It brings me hope in times of hopelessness, strength in times of weakness, and teaches me how to be a better person. I am who I am today because of this church. I love it.

How I live my faith

I participate in my local ward by serving as a young men's/scout leader. I have found it a great learning experience and wonderful service opportunity. The young men teach me so much and I always look forward to seeing the world through their eyes. I also do my best to look out for other members of our church my wife and I have become acquainted with and we enjoy serving them and receiving of their support.
