Hi I'm Don Warren

I live in Greendale, Wisconsin. I am married and had 4 wonderful children which I love. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love life and being outdoors. The beauty of creation draws me to God. Being physically fit and healthy is like winning life's lottery. I thank God every day for health. I once played pro golf for a short time. And ran two marathons. I love nature and birding, especially birds of prey. I married a woman far above what I deserve but who I needed. And was blessed with four wonderful children who had a childhood filled with good memories (my goal for them).

Why I am a Mormon

I always had a longing to fulfill some mysterious void in my life. Money, things, and success still left that void wanting to be filled the next day, again. I have come to know that void as a spiritual homesickness for a world we all lived in before our spirits came to earth. My mother was also searching for that missing part of earth life. She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints after listening to the spiritual truths taught by two missionaries (1963) who knocked on her door when I was 16. Those missionaries radiated real happiness and hope to those willing to listen and ask God if what they said was true. I had a struggle to give up my will and totally accept the will of God. The submission part is still a challenge in all things. I have since learned by experience that true happiness comes to those who love and serve to others. I feel I am on the path that leads back to our spiritual home. My goal is share the way with others. Many are kept from the truth because they know not where to find it. How true.

How I live my faith

If someone told you exactly what to do to find real lasting happiness would you take their advice? Maybe one bite at a time? OK, that is what I did. I pray every day as if God were next to me. Reading scripture, even if only a few minutes a day, always provides a spiritual spark that warms me. The camaraderie and fellowship I find at Church each Sunday with those who attend and believe alike is strengthening. The distraction of chasing worldly things and events never has that lasting satisfaction. Never. So, I work in boy scouting and lead young men in growing adventures and fun. Life is made of memories. The outdoor world is a great place to find real joy and appreciation. I also feel the need and desire to share the truth I have found with any listener. So, if you are reading this then know these are the feelings of my heart. I am so glad to have learned what I know from those authorized to teach it, and not from the many voices of opposition who have no idea what we believe, or twist it into a fairy tale that is so untrue from what we teach.
