Hi I'm Judi (with an "i")

I grew up in Massachusetts. I am a runner. I love licorice. I homeschool my four children. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love people, especially people who are different than me! This lead me to major in Cultural Anthropology in college. I find other cultures to be fascinating and inspiring. After graduating from college I chose to fulfill my childhood dream to be a stay at home mom. I have been married for almost seventeen years and have four children. I enjoy running. I ran my first marathon in 2007. I try to train for two half marathons a year. I find that having this as a goal helps me take care of my body and also gives an example to my children to set goals and work to accomplish them. We educate our children at home. We are stiving to instill the love of learning in each of our children.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were both raised in the Catholic faith. They were contacted by missionaries in their early years of marriage and after studying about the Mormon faith both decided to be baptized. I was baptized at the age of eight and I cannot remember a time when I did not have a great desire in my heart to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. When I was twenty-one I served a mission for our church in Ireland. This particular location was very special to me because my dad's parents emigrated to the United States from Ireland in the early 1900's. Sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with the Irish people increased my own testimony of the gospel. Now I enjoy the opportunity to raise my four children with a love of the gospel in their hearts. As a family we strive to keep the commandments and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ by studying the scriptures, having family prayer, serving those around us, and attending weekly Sunday meetings.

How I live my faith

I love to learn about other's beliefs. I love to hear about other people's stories, because we all have them. I try to be "an example of the believers" seeing the good in others. Currently, two of my children sing in a local children's choir. Music is an important part of our family. I enjoy volunteering in their choir and meeting other families who love and appreciate music too. I believe that beautiful music can lift us in so many ways. I enjoy serving in my church where my current assignment is working with the children. I love to teach the gospel to children. They are full of light and curiosity and want to do what is right.
