Hi I'm David

I was born and raised in Florida. I am a retired U.S. Air Force officer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband, father of four grown children, and grandfather of five. I have six sisters and two brothers. I own and and run a couple of small businesses with my wife. Favorite leisure activities include golf and board games with family and friends. During and after my military career I was priviledged to live in and visit many other states and countries and to meet many interesting people.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a Mormon because I grew up in a Mormon home with loving parents, brothers and sisters. I am a Mormon today because I have come to know for myself that the Book of Mormon is true; that it is indeed another testament of Jesus Christ. I am a follower of Jesus Christ--if an inadequate one--and I accept Him as my personal savior. My activity in the Church helps me to be a better person than I would otherwise be. My associations with the other members of my congregation inspire me, and their examples show me how the Gospel of Jesus Christ can work to improve our lives.

How I live my faith

I am invovled in the overall leadership of our congregation, and especially value the opportunity to work with the youth in scripture study, personal development, and community service. One day a week I volunteer my time to work in the Temple in our area. Each month I visit four families in our congregation to check on their well-being, and in the process have formed close friendships with all of them. In my community I serve on the board of directors of a not-for-profit professional association. All of these things I consider to be a blessing and not a burden. Without the influence of the Gospel of Jesus Christ I know that I would be much more self-centered (and I know there is still plenty of room for improvement).

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No. I did not serve a mission when I was 19, but I do now regret that decisioin to pass on the opportunity to serve the Lord and enrich my life. Show more Show less
