Hi I'm John, and I am a Mormon! Why?

Do not believe a word transcribed here, but through the admonition of James refer to his Chapter 1, Verses 5 and 6 for revelation.

About Me

(Please skip to "My Family" to avoid the unintentional vaingloriously verbiage of self). I was involved with the Defence mechanism in the field of Avionics, proceeded to the Pharmacology and Physiology department of the University of Queensland, on to the Biochemistry Department and the Clinical Research Centre at Royal Brisbane Hospital: all in the discipline of electronics/computers. A stint in Trieste, Italy in the Research and Development arena of Electro-Kinetics to Monash University - ad infinitum. Believing I had now retired; am awaiting my retirement. My time is now occupied with designing circuits and pursuing my research into high voltage engineering via construction of specific apparatus. My eternal companion frequently looks on in dismay at my endeavours, maybe thinking I now suffer from amentia. My Family: A devoted and beautiful wife and three precious children are the centre of my life and existence. A mathematician, a registered nurse and a commercial pilot are their various vocations. As you maybe become aware, I am deeply proud of their achievements but none so more as my wife. She encompasses all the protocols of Motherhood and the appropriate methodologies and domestic sciences essential for a woman's sacred calling as a mother and a daughter of God.

Why I am a Mormon

A Brief History: My family are religious to the extent I had been a member of the Salvation Army, Baptist, Methodist, and Lutheran Churches [my mother of German descent. (Ironically, I was married in the Church of England)]. At the age of 15, I presented myself to a faculty called "The Unley Gospel Chapel". These sincere and assiduous followers of Christ were seeking the truth; being aware that all the Churches had lost their way, teaching false, obscure and different doctrines. They also believed there was no priesthood of God upon the face of the earth . At the age of 15, realised I was becoming depressed because of my iniquities, so sought out our Saviour. In a sincere prayer and a spirit that was broken, was answered by a feeling that begs for a description. I felt, literally, a heavy burden taken from my shoulders and a serene and beautiful expression of love descend upon me. For the first time in my mortal probation, felt inexplicable joy. I was not a member of the "Mormon" Church, but I now knew my Saviour, Jesus Christ, existed. Even though the denomination I was attending were systematic in their teachings, I felt lost. For the next 18 years I researched the Sciences and Philosophy looking for the universal comprehension of where I came from, why I was in this mortal sojourn and what death held. The Missionaries arrive! I had been studying the Mayan and Inca civilisations and the impalable demise of the Incan empire. The anthropologists had no answers but these two Missionaries did! Sound improbable? - The Book of Mormon holds the history of these people. Finis: As an investigator I recall being approached by a member of the Church. He quietly stated "Do not believe what you have heard or read, but seek out the Spirit of the Lord for confirmation". Like millions of others I have exercised this principle and come to know the simple but pivotal Gospel of our Redeemer and its authenticity. The Book of Mormon is indeed a second witness of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I simply could not exist without the wonderful Spirits in my life: my eternal family and grand children and their decorous mothers - we have the sure knowledge that families can be together for all the eternities. This has always been the objective and plan of our Heavenly Father. I have discovered that when one stays focused on the necessities and tribulations of others, empathise with them and then enact, I forget myself and my concerns. To see only the good attributes in other mortals, lifts my spirit. These systematics will assist us to become more harmonious with those who surround us and become more Christlike. I love Heavenly Father, his beloved Son Jesus Christ, my family, my extended family and you.
