Hi I'm Lauren

I'm a student, a wife, a future family therapist, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love books and learning. I have a not-so-slight obsession with self-improvement and realizing potential. I'm pretty sure that I got this from my husband, who is working hard to become a motivational speaker. I believe my purpose in this life is to heal families and help people to understand better who they are and the potential they have in them to be great. To go along with my obsession for learning and growth, I have an even greater obsession for families and relationships! I love learning how we interact with those around us, and I strongly believe that by looking at the family system we can completely understand each individual and help them to realize and reach their divine potential. I am currently applying for graduate schools to become a Marriage and Family Therapist and I can't wait until I have the tools necessary to truly make a difference by healing families and individuals.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I am so grateful to have been introduced to the gospel early in my life. I have found purpose, hope, and healing in the teachings of my Savior Jesus Christ and His atonement. I have found no better way for people to reach their full potential and find healing than through the truth of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. The more experiences that I have in my life, the more I come to a firm belief that my Savior loves me and because He loves me He has provided me with a way to return to live with him forever! Not only can I live with Him forever, but I can be truly happy forever through keeping the commandments and having faith that He will make up for what I lack. I know that through the gospel I can live with my wonderful husband forever, and not just until we die. This gives me hope for the future, that no matter what happens here, I can be happy and that my family can continue on into eternity. What a wonderful promise!

How I live my faith

One thing I love about the church is that there is ALWAYS an opportunity to serve. Right now, my husband and I are moving around a lot and even in the few short months we will be here, we have found a place to serve. We are teaching the youth Sunday-school class and we love it! We have the opportunity to make the New Testament exciting for our class and help them see the value that they have. I have also had the opportunity to help serve in the neighborhood by giving rides to those in the church who are disabled. I have taken the blind to occupational therapy to the grocery store and I have even had the opportunity to help them clothing shop! it is such a wonderful experience to help others and realize how truly blessed I am. I am grateful for the opportunities I have to serve those I go to church with and even let them serve me. I am also currently exchanging babysitting for piano lessons! And, although I am not practicing as much as I should, the wonderful network I have is helping me not only bless the lives of others, but my life is also being blessed!
