Hi I'm Gerald Wilson

I'm a Mormon. I was born of goodly parents who taught me righteous principles. I try to live my life righteously.

About Me

I grew up on a farm, and was actively involved in Future Farmers of America during my High School years. I enjoyed showing my livestock at the County Fairs and livestock shows. After graduation from High School, I attended Dixie College for one year. I Then worked in road construction and saved up money to help pay for my Church Mission. After my mission, I went back to school and received a Batchelor's degree in Elementary Education. I taught school for five years, while working on my Masters Degree. I received my Master's in Educational Administration, at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. I was a school Administrator at an Elementary School, then served as a High School Principal for fourteen years. I got my Real Estate Sales License, then after the two year mandatory waiting period, I got my Brokers License. I managed a Broker's Office and hired sales people. I acquired a Manufactured Home Dealer's license, and sold Manufactured Homes. I joined into a partnership and we formed a Corporation. We put in a Manufactured Home Subdivision With 104 Lots. I enjoy sports, reading, and playing chess with my grandkds. I also enjoy playing the piano and organ. However, I'm not very proficient with either one. I am intrigued with modern technology. I really enjoy studying on my ipod and computer. My wife and I raised 5 boys. We have 21 grandchildren. I love my wife and family very much. We have been sealed in the Holy Temple for time and eternity.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was raised in the Church, I had to find out for myself concerning the truthfulness of my Faith. If ever there was a shadow of doubt, I would always come back to the Book of Mormon. Since I have read and reread this marvelous Book, there is no doubt but what it is true. Then, since the Book of Mormon is true, certainly Joseph Smith is a true Prophet of God. Therefore, the Church with living Apostles, is also true. My mission to Montana really solidified my convictions. It was truly a wonderful experience. I loved the people I met, and I loved to teach the gospel. I was really happy to see people transform their lives by accepting the principals of the gospel. It was wonderful to see the change for good, and the peace and happiness that the gospel brings to people's lives. My wife and I served an 18 month Church Mission to the Philippines. The people there were wonderful. We loved them dearly. What a marvelous experience we had in a new culture, serving among these happy people! The people respected us and reciprocated our love for them. I also served, with my wife, on a mission to the St. George Temple Visitors' Center Mission. This mission includes the historic St. George Tabernacle and Brigham Young Winter Home. This was another wonderful experience, where we met with people from all around the world, and had the opportunity to answer their questions about our faith. Serving as a Bishop, certainly increased my devotion to the church, as I served others. It is my sincere desire that all of my posterity live worthy, so that we can be an eternal family, in the hereafter. I have deep feelings in my heart for the Christian teachings of the gospel. The reasons, for the hope in Christ that I have, are many. The knowledge I possess did not come easily. However, I have witnessed many profound events and spiritual experiences in my life. They have left such undeniable impressions, that I cannot possibly doubt the truthfullnesss of the gospel.

How I live my faith

I have served in the church in various leadership positions, as well as teaching Sunday School. My wife and I attend the temple every week, when possible. It is a spiritual and uplifting experience each time we go. I have read the Book of Mormon several times in Tagalog, which is the main language of the Philippines, where my wife and I served our mission. I also subscribe to and read the monthly issue of our church magazine, written in Tagalog. This is always an uplifting experience for me. My wife and I have been married for 50 years now. We have lived through some hard times, and have learned much from our experiences together. Because of these experiences I have had, I have come to know that true joy comes from living righteously. When we live a Christian life, and do what we know is right, we will be happy and content. Converesly, when we do what we know to be wrong, we will face sorrow, disappointment, and regret; as a result. I know that Joseph Smith was and is a true Prophet of God, and that through him the Church of Jesus Christ was restored to the earth. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and that it is a second witness, along with the Bible, that Jesus is the Christ. I know that Christ atoned for our sins, and if we keep his commandments, we can return to live with him and our Heavenly Father again.
