Hi I'm Elysha!

I'm a daughter, chinese speaker, and I love quoting movies! I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I love being a Mormon! I have an amazing Christ like mother, and 4 fun loving sisters. I attended two different high schools, and two different colleges to finish my BA degree. I recently got called to serve a mission in the Taiwan. I just graduated with my bachelors degree in Communications. I love writing lyrics, poetry, and in my journal. I enjoy watching movies, and reading books. I like to country dance, Latin dance, and ballroom dancing. I like shopping with friends, and enjoying time with my family. I like exploring the world around me!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up being a member of the LDS church. At times I've looked at the way I'm living, and have wondered if there's anything better. I haven't found anything yet, and I don't think I will. The way I choose to live keeps me healthy, safe, and happy. I don't have to worry about a lot of things my friends do, because I keep the word of wisdom, wear modest clothing, and am constantly surrounding myself with other people who like to live the same way I do. I can't imagine anything better! One thing I love about this gospel, is knowing that I'll get to see all of my friends and family after death. I've had many people in my life pass away, and I've found through the gospel, that I will get to be with them once again. This alone brings me a lot of peace. I've had a lot of trials in my life, but the Lord has never left me alone, and I can feel his spirit with me all of the time, especially in times of hardship.

How I live my faith

I'm currently living my faith by serving a mission, and sharing what I know with others. I've served as a ward missionary, visiting teacher, and a class teacher. I try to live my life, so that I leave people better than I've found them, and I try to lift hands that hang low. Everyone needs a friend in this world! I've helped with many service projects, and I helped with two humanitarian projects in Peru. Knowing that everyone is a child of God, makes me more aware of the people around me, and makes me want to reach out to those around me all the time.

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Mormon is awesome! We're just like everyone else! We have certain standards that we live by that keep us healthy and happy. I find that's the biggest difference between myself and other people in the world. I have this gospel in my life that brings me joy. When I go to funerals, I'm okay because I know this isn't the last time I see the people I love. I know that I'll see them again. When I go to parties, I leave when the alcohol and drugs come out, so I can stay healthy. When my friends get married I know it's for eternity, not just until they fall out of love. God loves his children, he wants us to be happy! That's what this gospel is about, families and happiness! Show more Show less
