Hi I'm Melissa

Born & raised in Utah, I am proud to be a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife & a mother of two young boys. We live in Utah, so being a Mormon isn't at all unusual. It is nice being surrounded by the church & to be amongst many others who share my faith.

Why I am a Mormon

Being born & raised in Utah, it's not uncommon to be a Mormon. I was born into the church, baptized when I was 8 years old but what is uncommon about me is choosing to follow the religion after my baptism was entirely my choice. Very few members of my family are still active in the church. I was not active in my church until I was 14 years old. I was invited to attend an activity with other young women in my ward. I always had a desire deep down to attend church, a burning feeling deep inside that never went away, but as a child I had few options to actually go to church since my parents never had any desire themselves and most often tried to discourage me from going. It wasn't until that phone call on a cold December night, that my life changed for the better. That burning feeling became a roaring fire I could no longer deny. Today, I have a beautiful life. I'm a wife & mother of two wonderful boys. We are an eternal family, something I've always wanted. Our life isn't always perfect, & the road is often rough with trials & challenges to overcome, but my faith & testimony of the Gospel gives me strength to keep going. It gives me hope & happiness when the trials in my life threaten to take it all away. I am a Mormon because I love my Heavenly Father & my Savior, Jesus Christ. His Gospel is the one thing that I can count on to draw strength from. It fills my home with love & peace, and it guides me in all I do. Family is important to me & the Family is central to God's plan of happiness. I believe the Book of Mormon to be true & I follow the teachings of the Savior.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to follow the teachings of the Savior to love one another & serve the people around me. As a wife & mother I strive to teach my children the Gospel alongside my husband. I try to be a good example to everyone around me, including my children. Each day, I try to live the principles we are taught: Attend church, read the scriptures, pray & serve others.I believe that if I live my life the way I am taught, then I will be able to receive promptings from the spirit that will guide me in my daily life. Part of living my faith is sharing it with others & that is what I hope to accomplish with this site.
