Hi I'm Rainy

I was born and raised in Arizona. I'm a nurse and I love to learn. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from college a few months ago and now I'm working as a registered nurse. I married the love of my life last December. We have so much fun together and we're looking forward to starting our family soon! When I'm not working, I love to read books of all kinds, sew and create, exercise, and learn new things! I'm always trying to learn more about the body so I can be a better nurse, and I'm currently studying Chinese because my husband and I will be living in China soon. I also love rainy days, chocolate chip cookies, all things Harry Potter, blogs, walking barefoot in the grass, apple pie, Asia, chocolate cake, the color orange, and my family!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are Mormon, as are all six of my siblings and almost all of my extended family. That's probably the reason I went to three hours of church every Sunday when I was little. But it didn't take long to develop a testimony of my own. I'm a Mormon because I believe. I believe in Jesus Christ. I believe that He lived, that He suffered for my sins, and that He died for me. I believe that I can pray to my Heavenly Father and that He listens to my prayers. I believe that Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and that he restored the fullness of the Gospel to this earth. Because the priesthood was restored to earth, we can be baptized by the proper authority. We can receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, and we can be sealed to our families and our spouses not just for time but for all eternity! I believe that the Book of Mormon was written by prophets thousands of years ago and that it contains the word of God. I think I've always believed these things, but I haven't always known them. That takes time. And I can't pinpoint the moment when it happened for me, when I was truly converted. But I can easily say that I am converted now, that I know these things beyond any doubt. I know this is the true church, and I'm so happy I'm a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I go to three hours of church every Sunday. I lead the music and choose the songs we're going to sing each week. I love to sing hymns! It's one of my favorite things about church. I always feel the spirit when we are singing praises to our Father in Heaven. I also visit two of the girls in my ward each month to make sure they're doing well and to help them know that they're loved. I get a visit each month from a couple of the girls in my ward for the same reason. It's one way we can know if any of the women need some extra prayers, or a few meals during a difficult week. Our ward is like a family and we take care of each other. The women in the ward also get together once every couple of weeks to get to know each other and to learn new things. It's a great way to make friends.
