Hi I'm Douglas

I enjoy fishing, hunting, golf and watching football. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in the RLDS church. I have one daughter. I love to golf anytime and anywhere I can. I enjoy rooting for the Huskies and the Vikings football teams. I enjoy fishing with my family and friends. I am a security guard and have been for 11 years. I have been married to my amazing wife for 33 years! I enjoy shooting my grandfathers old riffles and I reload my own bullets. When life hands you Lemons make Lemonaid.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church after my daughter and wife. I joined because the teachings were clearer and more complete than what I had been raised with. Also, the people in the ward took me in as one of their own and they really make me feel like I am a part of the family. Being raised in the RLDS church I always knew about Joseph Smith and his teachings, I believed in them, but the LDS church trully lives by them and their teachings are much more complete. My parents are presthood holders in the RLDS Church, and I have an Uncle that is an appostle in the RLDS (Community of Christ) church. I was reluctant at first to join the church because I did not want to hurt them, but I knew in my heart that this is where the Lord wanted me to be. My family has been sealed in the temple and I now have an eternal family that I am greatful for.

How I live my faith

I am currently the Sunday School President for the 12 to 18 year old youth. In this I make sure they are being taught the correct principles of the church and that the curriculum is according to church standards. I also call teachers who I feel will influence their growth in the gospel. I am a Home Teacher and I enjoy having members at my house for dinner and various parties.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Douglas
Yes, a husband, wife and children can be together forever. This is one of the many things about the church that made me join. I want to be with my family forever. Death does not end here, our mortal bodies end but who we are (our spirit) continues to grow and live and I love this knowledge about the church. Show more Show less
