Hi I'm Tom

Friends inspired and taught my family when I was young and now I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Southern California and now I live in Washington. I've been married 20 years to my beautiful wife and we have been blessed with 5 children; 1 boy and 4 girls. I love spending time with my family at home, at their activities, on the lake, or just enjoying time together with friends. I enjoy almost any kind of outdoor activity or sport, but I particularly like waterskiing, wakeboarding, camping, running, kid time, and a little R&R with my wife. I work in the pharmaceutical industry for a company that has a major focus in diabetes. My wife and I also dabble in a few business ventures on the side. I really like getting to know people; what makes them tick and how they see things. We are often so busy that I relish times when I can read, watch a movie, or relax.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know the teaching's of the church are true and the principles we live by come from God through the scriptures and a living prophet. The spirit testifies of truth and I've felt it over and over again. The Lord wants us each to find out for ourselves and I did. As I read, became informed, pondered, and prayed the spirit confirmed the truth. I followed this pattern for gaining a testimony of Jesus Christ, the Book of Mormon, the Bible, the prophet Joseph Smith, and other teachings. I'm a Mormon because through God's plan we can return to live with Him and our families forever. This is only possible through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon because through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I know where I came from, why I'm here, and where I'm going.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith by the way I act and the things I do each day. I try my best to follow the Savior's example. I've been able to serve in many different church callings including teaching and interacting with the youth. This is very rewarding. We meet together on Sunday's and also have activities once a week where we learn about what we believe, do a lot of fun activities, and provide service. Often our service extends into the community where we collaborate with people of many different faiths. Another way I try to live my faith is through daily scripture study and prayer. This helps me to better know God's teaching's and his will concerning me. In turn, I am able to better focus on what's most important in life. My son and I visit a few families each month to teach a spiritual message, get to know them better, and help them any way we can. It's one way we take care of each other. I also live my faith by being active in the community. We have many friends who are not of our faith. I try to be a good friend, help those in need, and volunteer.
