Hi I'm Whitney

I've grown up in Utah most of my life. I am a college student studying Political Science and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student, studying Political Science. My ultimate dream job is to be a campaign adviser. I love our great country and what it was founded on. I also love sports. I played softball, basketball and golf in high school and still enjoy participating in them today. I love photography and movies.

Why I am a Mormon

I struggled gaining a testimony in my early years of membership. I had never really put in the effort to communicate to my Heavenly Father and study the scriptures, however, I always had my best friends who were always good examples to me of how to live the gospel. As I graduated high school and moved out, I eventually stopped going to church on Sunday and church activities all together. During the span of a year, I felt like I was missing something major in my life that no party I went to or friend I made could fill. Finally I moved in with my best friend from high school where I was nudged and encouraged to attend with her. At first I went, just so I wouldn't be pestered with her asking me to go. One rough day, when it seemed I had nothing left to live for, I turned to my heavenly father in prayer in the middle of the night. Kneeling beside my bed I offered up my feelings and concerns... For the first time I felt a deep burning in my chest, and I knew that all I have learned through out my life and what my parents had taught me was in fact true. I kneeled, crying for hours and opened my eyes with a new sight and self worth, completely comforted. I choose to follow this church still today because I have seen the so many tender mercies in my life. I love this church with all the fiber of my being and know that it is the ONLY true church on this earth. I know that Jesus Christ is my saviour and died for my sins. I know that Joseph Smith prayed, just like I had, for the true church, and that he was visited by our Heavenly Father and Heavenly Brother on that beautiful morning. I know that Joseph restored the church to this earth and that it is because of his bravery that I could receive such amazing blessings that I have today. I am thankful for this gospel and how it has made me who I am today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by my example. I try in all that I do to set a true example of Christ. I attend church on Sundays, and enjoy my calling working with the Young Women in my ward. They are truly the strongest generation yet!
