Hi I'm Lara

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

There are lots of things that I love. I love books, dancing, cooking and traveling to name a few. I am a BYU-Idaho student majoring in political science with a minor in english. I am the youngest of seven kids and moved a lot growing up.

Why I am a Mormon

Many people assume that being born a Mormon eliminates the need to be converted to the gospel. Although I was born into the church I still had to find out for myself if what I had been taught my whole life was true. I saw my parent's and sibling's examples of strong, faithful church attendance and devotion to God but there came a point where I could no longer rely solely on their testimonies. I had to ask myself if what my family was part of was really the church of God or if they were just good people attending a nice church. I did what the scriptures say and I prayed to know. It's simple. Either the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church of God, or it's not. There is no middle ground. God confirmed to me that this is His church, and for that, I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Service is one of the ways that I live my faith. The church has blessed me with an understanding of why service is important and given me opportunities to serve. A couple of my favorite memories include going to Mexico to build homes and having the opportunity to visit nursing homes to sing to and talk with residents.
