Hi I'm Lily

I grew up an air force brat. I love to read and sew. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My father was in the US Air Force when I was a child and my happy memories come from the time we lived near Kaneohe, Hawaii. I studied medical records technology in college and I am currently working as a classroom aid in my local elementary school. The best time there is working with and interacting with the children. Children can be incredibly honest and they are almost always entertaining. My children are all adults, but they visit frequently and they keep me laughing - and happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the church, my father's family crossed the plains with the pioneers to settle in Utah and then in Mesa, AZ. My mother's family is from South Carolina, and her grandmother was the first to join the church in that line. When I was a teenager, I decided I needed to know for myself that the church was true. I read the Book of Mormon through on my own and felt the witness in my heart, like a warm glow, that the book was absolutely true - there was no other possibility.

How I live my faith

Since the time I decided the church was true, I have followed the path offered by the church. I have taught the children, my adult sisters in the church, and the adult Sunday school class. I have also worked with the cub scouts as a den mother and I have been through many types of training, including Scout Master training. I love teaching because of how much I learn when I study and prepare. I enjoy attending church each week to associate with friends and neighbors there and feeling the Spirit as we worship together. My husband and I have sent our sons out on missions for the church, through them, we have had a taste of Ukraine, Italy, and Guatemala. It is so exciting to see the people joining and living the Gospel around the world. I truly believe that the key to peace around the world lies with individuals learning to love one another - this can be accomplished as we come to know that we are all brothers and sisters and children of our Heavenly Father. Jesus Christ, our Savior, shows us the way. As we follow Him, we will find His Peace.
