Hi I'm Bladimir

I'm a philosopher, educator, writer, illustrator, and proud father and husband. I am the founder of Philosophy Kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a reading teacher at a New York City charter school, where I get to have fun sharing my love for reading. I like to write poetry and children's stories. My first scholarly publication is due out soon: Ingenios de la voluntad. It's about the relation that exists between language and reality. I am very excited about it! I'm also editing a children's book I wrote for my daughter Sarah several years ago. It's about an old man and a young girl who have the most wonderful adventures, all in one day. It's called, "Las maravillosas aventuras de Fía y Don Recuerdos."

Why I am a Mormon

My conversion to Mormonism is quite fascinating! I know it was a "divine plot" to save my soul. I remember that I'd visited several churches, but none really "clicked." One Sunday morning I ran into a childhood friend I'd not seen for at least twenty five years. He was going to church. I was on my way to a friend's house. He asked me if I wanted to go to church with him, so we could catch up. I agreed. At church I met two missionaries who gave me a copy of the Book of Mormon. I read it and it changed my life. I've become a better father and husband because of it. I also received a testimony of the restored Gospel that's continuously growing.

How I live my faith

The restored Gospel brought into my life the purpose I'd missed for so long. Every Sunday after church I take time to visit or call other members and we talk about how great it is to have the Gospel in our lives. Often I share how important it is to have an eternal family. The Gospel is the center of my daily life.
