Hi I'm Arloa

I'm a mom, grandma, and horse rider. I enjoy teenagers, sewing, teaching and playing music, hiking, and my marriage. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to be busy with life. Running and exercising every morning as I start my day is a magnificent feeling that I try not to miss. I enjoy teaching music lessons on piano and flute. It's great being the taxi driver for my children and listening to FUN music on the radio together. Hiking and horseback riding allows me to feel connected with God. His creations are outstanding! Sewing and learning the new advances of technology intrigue me. My life is filled with joy when I talk and spend time with my children and grandchild. Best of all is falling deeper in love everyday with my best friend and husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I know God listens to me when I pray. He listens even if it's a short prayer in the car while driving, or if I talk to him while I am running and exercising. I feel a peace within my busy brain and a comfort deep in my soul that I can rely on Him at any time. Answers from God don't always come immediately, but I know that if I make the best decision I can, He will support my choices. God gives me everything I have including the breaths I take to keep alive. I want to give him all that I can to thank Him for my blessings. I see that Christ was perfectly obedient to His Father and I want to be like Jesus. Through experience, I know that being obedient brings blessings and more freedom even though it requires a little sacrifice. Trying to be obedient has changed who I am! Trusting in Christ's example brings peace to my soul. I don't need many material goods, but I am so grateful to be able hold the scriptures in my hands and read God's words. I try to read daily because His teachings really guide me as I travel through life. The little things that go wrong don't seem to matter when I have concentrated on His words. I like being Mormon because there is safety. Many of the restrictions and rules that we follow are meant to help us be more like Jesus and act like He would have us act. There is peace in following Christ, and I can do that with the teachings I learn in church.

How I live my faith

I love to participate in my community by working with more than 200 of the LDS young women in my area. These young women and I work together planning dances quarterly for over 700 of their fellow youth. Sometimes we are in charge of decorations, games or food. Other times we have age appropriate social gatherings so the young women and young men can learn to socialize in good wholesome fun. Not only is the FUN wholesome, but these young women dress in comfortable, non-provocative clothing. I feel that these youth enjoy being obedient and I know they find happiness through trying to be like Christ. Another of my favorite things to do is visit with women in my area. In church, we are asked to take a friend and visit our fellow women in the ward. My friend who visits with me is blind, and she has taught me to find the good in everything. One of our new best friends in these monthly visits has been struggling with cancer. When the body is not feeling well it's hard to be happy, but this gal reminds me to be grateful for every day. This quiet warrior gives me courage in the battle for life. Life is FUN! Youth and friends brighten my day and help me try to live my life in the manner that God wants me to live.
